Coins Certified by NGC Ancients Offered in CNG Auction

Dozens of ancient and world coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are available in the Classical Numismatic Group Auction 121, October 5-7, 2022. They include a coin from the ancient Greek colony of Panticapaeum, which lies in what today is called Crimea.
The auction’s top lot is a Bosporus, Panticapaeum c.340-320 Gold Stater graded NGC Ancients MS, 5/5 Strike and 4/5 Surface, with Fine Style (lot 283). The obverse features the head of a Greek god (Pan or Silenus) wearing an ivy wreath, while the reverse shows a griffin holding a weapon in its mouth while standing on a grain stalk. This coin has an estimate of $75,000.
